Google is integrating its AI model Google Gemini into all their products, and has recently integrated the model in Google Maps, where users can search for a location or ask about location information by typing or through voice search. To access this feature, make sure your application is up to date, then open Google Maps and you will find “Ask Maps” at the top. It will open with a greeting using your name and also gives some example search queries showing how you can ask questions.
For example, you can ask for your weekend plans: “Where is the nearest football turf available with low pricing?” — it will search the map and give you information based on your query, and you can then use that information.
Google has also given various examples, such as this one — “My phone is dying — where can I charge it without having to wait in a long line for coffee?” — Google might suggest a library, and the map will show nearby libraries where you can charge your phone for free.
I am not sure whether it currently works only in English or in other regional languages as well. Currently, it is rolling out in India and the USA. As I mentioned, update your application and try it.
Hope it won’t lead us to a dead end.
