Popular movie streaming platform Netflix has been focusing heavily on gaming in recent days. They first introduced gaming within the Netflix application itself, featuring popular titles like GTA: San Andreas, Red Dead Redemption, and many more — and we have to agree that users enjoyed that too.
Now they have launched a separate application named Netflix Playground, specially focusing on kids. The application is fully offline — no need to connect to the internet — and it is currently ad-free with no in-app purchases. It features popular children’s games like Peppa Pig, Dr. Seuss, and many others. They are also expanding new seasons and episodes to their older games, such as Trash Truck and The Creature Cases.
Netflix also provides parental controls on the application. Parents can have separate individual Kids profiles, customizable maturity settings, Title-Level Blocking, Profile Lock pins, and Viewing History and activity tools.
They have created this application to compete with their rival Disney+. The application is currently live in the U.S., Canada, Philippines, New Zealand, UK, and Australia, and later this month they will expand it globally.
