Meta has released its own AI-generated models named Muse Image and Muse Video this week, which will help users create AI-generated images and videos that can be shared as a story or posted as a reel, as a part of this feature. Anyone can use our photos from our public Instagram account to create AI-generated images and can tag us. You may think, “I didn’t sign up for this,” but you are automatically opted into this.
It may raise a serious privacy issue, where anyone can use your images on Meta AI just by mentioning your username, and they are able to create AI images.
To prevent this, there are two solutions. First, I will explain the simplest way: go to the settings and scroll down to the “Sharing and reuse” heading and turn off both options in the section named “Allow people to create with and reuse your content.” That’s it.
The second solution is advisable if you care more about your privacy, and it comes with a cost: make your account private, so it will generally prevent Meta from allowing others to use your photos.
You have the choice to choose, but my suggestion is: if you want to keep your profile public, you can go for the first one.

After getting serious backlash from the privacy community, Meta has finally removed the controversial feature from Instagram, the company has announced in their blog post, explaining they have removed the feature currently.
