Tech giant Apple is planning to bring ads to Apple Maps, as reported by Bloomberg. The ads will appear in the suggestions section within the search, and they will work exactly how Google Maps ads work. Business owners can bid on a particular keyword — for example, “beef burger” — and the top bid ads will appear in the ads section.

Small business owners can target keywords, and newcomers with different dishes can also target keywords to attract tourists, especially in certain regions. Apple is planning to bring this feature this summer, mostly in the USA and Canada first, and will slowly expand to other regions.
The team also believes it will increase revenue for the Apple Services section. How they will handle user data in relation to privacy is still unknown.
