Most of the discussion in the IT industry nowadays is about AI. Founders are focused on how they can integrate new models into their products, while many employees feel stressed and uncertain about their future, worried that these same tools might replace them. But the talks in US, it is totally different when the AI is arrived. They thinked very progressive, like the AI can improve their productivity, and they can finish the tasks within — like for example, if one is taking 4 hours, they can finish it within 1 hours. It is possible, and everyone have witness that as well.
But the question is: integrating the AI really helped to boost the productivity as said? A new study have revealed it is not, and the study was published in Harvard Business Review. As part of the research, the team have spent an eight months in a tech company which have employee strength more than 500. The the researchers find this integration didn’t improve the productivity very much, but it was improved like less than 5%. And they employees are already, they are getting more and more works once they are finishing their task, and they are even missing their breaks.
Many people have commented the same on this topic on various social media platforms. Once there company integrate AI, they are expecting the employees to get more work, and the ecosystem is feeling unbalanced.
In my point of view, as i was using AI in my day to day to life, we need to make a space for our other activities as well. And the companies too — if they are implementing AI — they have to be very precise in the work timings. Then only it can improve the productivity of the employees and the company goals; otherwise, we can’t achieve anything.
AI will help improve our productivity when we use it on under our control instead of letting it quietly take control of our time.
